Job Description
You may have never thought about being a driver for our septic pump truck as a career, but it's an important service work that’s always needed, even in times of economic uncertainty. As a septic pump truck driver, you’ll be doing something that matters!
How to Know if You Are a Good Fit for this Service Professional Position
- You’ll be a key component of our company serving homeowners, solving their troublesome problems.
- After your initial training, you’ll be operating company owned equipment. You’ll perform a service helping homeowners get back to a normal life with a fully functioning septic system.
- You like figuring things out and don’t get frustrated easily. You’re willing to take the time to explain things and help people and see something through.
- You’ll need to be comfortable using a variety of different tools and equipment.
- You aren’t afraid to get dirty. You like working with your hands and complex equipment, and don’t mind dealing with the job’s more challenging and physical aspects.

Initially, you’ll team up with a more experienced operator to train in the knowledge and skills you’ll need to perform. Once you are up to speed, you’ll be the face of the company and critical in providing excellent experience for our customers.
You’ll provide crucial services for our customers’ homes and families. Here are the things you’ll be responsible for:
- Safely operating a septic truck equipped with vacuum pumps and hoses to collect and transport septic waste.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving the septic truck.
- Maintain a strong focus on road safety, avoiding accidents and practicing defensive driving techniques.
- Efficiently locate, access and pump/clean septic tanks and waste storage facilities.
- Transport collected waste to designated disposal sites, following proper waste disposal guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of each service call, including photos, location of septic tank and condition of the tank and amount of waste collected.
- Following Our Mr. Rooter Plumbing Process – You’ll follow our proven process, from locating the tank to restoring the landscaping.
Job Requirements
The following are the minimum requirements to be considered for this position:
- Must be able to lift at least 35 lbs., bend, stoop, and crawl into confined spaces.
- Must have a valid COMMERCIAL, Class B driver’s license and be insurable – you’ll be driving our company vehicle.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities.
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and irregular hours.
